"I started out doing the inlaid floral pieces first. My initial attempt was to capture the area with the rustic mountains and cactus and rocks and those colors and work with those within the confines of a perfect shape. That was my initial idea and what I've continued working with. There's nothing sticking outside of the silhouette; it's all contained within a perfect line."
"We're more into florals now than the cactus that we did in the beginning. And we're working with underglazes -- I like the way they capture the color. You get more variations than with just a hard glaze, a glossy type glaze."
