"I create each piece and then I have people that I work with and they recreate those pieces. I do the original designs and color palettes and additions to the pieces, like if we do new flowers or new leaves, I design those and make those molds. And then the people I have working with me are -- this sounds bad, but they're -- actually more meticulous than I am in the construction of the piece."

"I come up with the designs and I've got a really excellent group of people working with me. One lady cuts out all the pieces. She cuts out all the flowers and puts them in boxes and keeps them covered, and then another lady assembles the pieces. They're all done in large molds and this other lady assembles the pieces and then basically puts the whole piece together."

"Then the pieces dry overnight. We take them out of the mold and they have to dry completely. I've got a young man who paints the pieces. Then they're bisque-fired and we stain them and then airbrush them and then they're fired again. So there are a lot of different steps with different people. I still do all the airbrush on all the pieces right now. "

"Lately, I have started making the flowers in an oil-based clay and then making a mold of the flowers. Sometimes I will use a real flower. I'm getting more into actually making the originals with clay and then making the mold of that. Sometimes, if it's a very textural flower, I will make a mold of the flower..."
